There seems to be a misconception floating around that starting your first lessons with an electric guitar is more difficult than starting with a guitar acoustics. The opposite is actually more true.

The electric guitar's neck is longer and thinner than an acoustic guitar. The action (space between strings and the upper frets) is generally lower on an electric guitar too. As a result, less force is required to push the rope down on the fretboard, making it easier to play.

The classical guitar would be next in line as far as ease playing is concerned. This is because it has nylon strings that are more flexible than steel chains wound in a dreadnought acoustic guitar. The challenge with classical guitar especially for those with smaller hands, is playing a wider neck.

So when the guitar score of 1. being the most easy to play, and 3. being the most difficult, my opinion is:

1. electric

2. classical

3. steel string acoustic (Dreadnaught)

Now when it comes to style, another Mattera thata …

Each of the tools I mentioned above are generally associated with a particular style of music. Electric guitars have a long history of association with rock and roll. Also, classical guitars were developed to play classical and acoustic steel guitar is most often associated with country western music. But that does not mean you are restricted to these areas only.

Each style of guitar music has worth and unique ita difficulty level. I doubt that's even possible to compare ita really such thing as the style is the hardest to play. We can all think of great musicians in every FieldA … Eddie Van Halen, Segovia, Chet Atkins, all of whom were guitarists in Supurb particular style of choice.

The important thing is to understand that all notes and chords are all the same, regardless of the type of guitar you use. Thus that when choosing a guitar for yourself or your child, consider the style of music that you (or they) want to learn and take from there.
